Cisco, world leader in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), has joined today as a strategic partner to Zaragoza's Innovation in Retail Center (T-ZIR). This has been ratified by the Director of Operations at Cisco Spain, Jesús Mansilla, and the General Director of Grupo Iberebro, Luis Barcelona, with the signing of an agreement that lays the foundation for this collaboration.
T-ZIR is a center of innovation applied to the retail sector, based in Zaragoza and international projection. It was born with the aim of anticipating, creating and providing digital solutions to the consumers of the future in an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and with the support of each of its strategic partners: Iberebro, Intel, Microsoft, Telefónica, HMY and, now, Cisco.
The incorporation of Cisco is key. This is the accession of one of the big companies in the global technology sector, dedicated to helping companies and Administrations to build state-of-the-art intelligent networks and to integrate and manage ICT solutions to take advantage of the digital opportunities of the future. Within the ecosystem, Cisco will be able to contribute enormously to the improvement of the solutions that arise in the innovation center within the technological scope. Cisco already works actively with TZIR startups, mentoring them and giving them equipment and software. He has also made various collaborations with TZIR in projects such as the sensorization of the headquarters of the Aragón Fashion Week, the management of big data and heat maps in real time during this week of fashion, organized by the Government of Aragon. For this project his Meraki tool was used. With regard to this firm, Luis Barcelona has indicated that: "In these 2 years of life we have been able from our acceleration programs to bring to the market solutions of our startups in which technologies such as augmented reality, virtual reality, or knowledge of consumer behavior through the sensing of physical and digital spaces are already accessible to medium-sized businesses.
From our project area we are already launching pilot programs of digitalization of traditional commerce in Zaragoza. The incorporation of Cisco, which is a leading company in networks and technology, brings us experience and assets to consolidate what we have already built and face growth in other areas. " For his part, Jesús Mansilla stressed that "in the retail sector, a large part of innovation comes from startups. We are delighted to join the TZIR project, providing our experience, mentoring and technological solutions to help entrepreneurs and startups and contribute to the digitalization of traditional commerce in Aragón and Spain under an open innovation model. "
After two years in operation, T-ZIR is immersed in its second acceleration program, after the success of the first call, in which the Aragonese startup DeuSens was the winner. Pioneer in Europe as the first retail vertical, T-ZIR works jointly with startups and businesses in Aragon, developing important innovation projects in the hands of strategic partners and startups in the Telefónica Open Future ecosystem. In addition to the acceleration program, T-ZIR has several projects in hand with the objectives of digitalizing traditional commerce and democratizing technological innovation, among which is MiZesta, which was launched in February 2018.
MiZesta is a digital market that allows the combined purchase of fresh produce in the market of Valdespartera Zaragoza and complement it with other non-perishable supermarkets in a single order.
